Why You Should Use a Random Number Generator
In the meantime, if you try to construct a list of random numbers for yourself and you'll likely find an order. Even in the subconscious, the human brain is taught to search for and create things in an order or pattern. Unfortunately, this could negatively impact math tasks that you're working with or tasks you've planned.
To make sure it stays entirely up to chance, and to ensure that you don't have any influence over the choice made to make sure, we've designed this helpful random number generator which can select the number to select for you. It's easy to use. Just put in two numbers, and the random number generator will give you an integer that lies between them.
How To Use a Random Number Generator
This random number generator can recognize complete positive and negative numbers. It does not understand decimals or fractions or equations. If you insert an percent symbol, the symbol will not transfer into the random number box.
- Start by entering a number of your choice in the lower limit box.
- You can then enter a different number of your choice in the box above.
- Once you have two numbers, just click Enter.
- You random number will appear at the bottom of your Random Number box.
- Continue pressing Enter to get a new number every time.
- When you wish to change the lower limit and upper limit numbers, select Clear.
Working Example
Let's imagine that you need to pick an random number to win a raffle prize. There are thirty people that attend the raffle, and only three of them will win. The tickets range from 1 to 150, so the Lower Limit is 1 . The upper Limit would be 150. Click Enter and the random number generator gives you the numbers 7, 36, and 2.
Raffle participants with numbers 7 2, 36, and 7 that appear on the tickets of raffle participants will be the winners of three raffles.
Decimal Trouble
Imagine you're trying to discover an number within 2.01 to 2.5. Enter 2.01 as your Lower Limit and 2.5 as your Upper Limit. You press Enter and you're given a 2? It's not in your range of values! Sorry, but there's no decimals to be used in the random number generator. However, as long as you're working within decimal points of the same number, you could use another whole number as your two values, and assign the result to the decimal.
So if your range is from 2.01 and 2.5 then you can type 1 and 50 in the boxes for values. Let's assume that it gives you the number 25. You could assign that to your decimal and it would give you the following result: 2.25
